Pramod Cheruvalath entered
the film business in 1992, as a
camera assistant at India's premier
film
- video post production Studio - Prasad Video
Digital (PVD). While at PVD, he rapidly made progress
from the camera team to become production executive at PVD. After co-ordinating
international shoots for BBC Bristol
(My School Tie) Endboard Productions, Birmingham/Channel - 4, London
(Kabbadi 1992),
Shipman Productions,
London (Madame Blavatsky) and numerous Ad-Film and Corporate
Videos, he was quickly promoted to head
Prasad’s independent production company called – Television
Entertainment group.
At television entertainment group he was
given the opportunity to
direct is first corporate video (Graphite
India). This was followed by the AD assignments for Shankarlal comics, MRF creditlines...etc. His directorial
skills
were further honed when he joined Selluloid Associates in 1994 (A
leading production house in Chennai)
as assistant director. At Selluloid Associates his
creative talent was quickly recognized and he was quickly
promoted to Associate director.
During this time he was involved in assisting and co-directing
numerous Ad-film, Corporate Videos,Television
Fillers / Trailers and Documentaries. Important films include
the Kothari Group Video, The Right Rhythm for
growth (A film for investment opportunities in Tamil
nadu), a series of 45 trailers and filers for the Asianet
Satellite Channel, commercials for Arun Ice Creams, Sunandhini Karyatheta,
Filmfare Awards, Sunbeam Cooking
Oil...etc, to name a
few.
He left Selluloid associates to head Erka films
in 1996. Under his creative and technical guidance, Erka
Films quickly became one of the most sought
after production houses in South India, executing commercials
and corporate videos for some of the biggest brands and corporate/manufacturing companies of South
India. Memorable productions at Erka Films
include films for BPL, MRF Tyres,
Miss World 1997,
UB Breweries,
Woodlands Time Share
Video, IFB Washing Machines…etc.
In 1998 he left Erka Films to launch his own production Company – Sign Of Life Productions. Since then,
Sign Of Life has emerged as one of the most progressive production houses
in South India
producing quality
Television Commercials, Corporate Videos and Documentaries.
Today, Pramod Cheruvalath is known as one of the most talented,
emerging film directors in South India
and the company he founded (SIGN
OF LIFE)
is rapidly working towards its goal of becoming a dominating
production house producing exciting content for the global market.
